Hypertrophic osteoarthropathy (HOA) is a clinical syndrome of clubbing of the fingers and toes, enlargement of the extremities, and painful, swollen joints. Primary hypertrophic osteoarthropathy is a rare condition. Secondary hypertrophic osteoarthropathy is associated with many illnesses.
