What is Vitamin D3 (calcitriol)?

Vitamin D3 (calcitriol) is a Vitamin D analog used to manage hypocalcemia in renal dialysis patients; secondary hyperparathyroidism in chronic renal disease; to manage hypocalcemia in hypoparathyroidism. It is also used to decrease severity of psoriasis and for Vitamin D dependent rickets.
