What is peg tube failure?

PEG, or percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is a feeding tube used maintain nutrition. Candidates for PEG tube feeding include patients with inadequate oral intake or functionally impaired swallowing muscles. At times, these feeding tubes may fail or require replacement.
