Peripheral neuritis is the inflammation of a peripheral nerve. Your peripheral nerves are the ones outside your brain and spinal cord. Symptoms often start gradually, and then get worse. They include numbness, pain, burning or tingling, muscle weakness, and sensitivity to touch.
