Gastric bypass surgery is a type of bariatric surgical procedure used to treat morbid obesity. The most common procedure is called the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass where a small stomach pouch is created with a stapler device. Complications can develop including nausea, vomiting, blood clots, and others.
