What is clonus spasms?

A convulsive spasm, or clonus, is a series of rapidly alternating contractions and partial relaxations of a muscle. In some nervous diseases, convulsive spasms involve complex groups of muscles and may result from changes in the normal pattern of motor neuron discharge.
