What is Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome?

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is a condition in which episodes of fast heart rate (tachycardia) occur because of an abnormal extra electrical pathway in the heart. This results in a tachycardia known as an atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia.
