What is urethral diverticulum?

Urethral diverticulum (UD) is a condition in which an outpouching or pocket forms from the urethra and into the anterior vaginal wall. Due to the close proximity to the urethra, this outpouching can get filled with urine and may cause urinary frequency, urgency, and pain.
