What is toxoplasmosis?
Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii. In the first few weeks post-exposure, the infection may cause a mild flu-like illness in healthy adults. However, immunosuppressed patients, pregnant women and the fetus are vulnerable to serious or life-threatening illness.
