What is polio?

Polio is a highly contagious viral illness. Initial symptoms include fever, neck stiffness, headache, vomiting, and limb pain. Serious symptoms include difficulty breathing and permanent paralysis. Polio is a rare condition and efforts to eradicate the disease are occurring worldwide.
