What is plasmacytoma?

Plasmacytoma is a rare type of solid tumor developing in the plasma cells. It can occur as either a solid bone plasmacytoma or extramedullary plasmacytoma. Patients with plasmacytoma are at risk for developing multiple myeloma. Treatment usually consists of radiation therapy with occasional surgery.
