What is keratitis?

Keratitis is a condition in which the eye's cornea, the front part of the eye, becomes inflamed. Keratitis has multiple causes including bacterial, fungal, or viral infections. Keratitis may also develop in patients with autoimmune and chronic connective tissue diseases.
