A hemangiopericytoma is a rare type of benign or malignant tumor involving blood vessels and soft tissues. Hemangiopericytomas can originate in multiple areas of the body, but the most common areas are brain, lower extremities, pelvic area, and head and neck. Treatment may be surgery or radiation.
