Enterocele

What is enterocele?

An enterocele is a protrusion (hernia) of the small intestine into the vagina. The muscles and ligaments that support the intestines can weaken and cause it to drop down and protrude into the vagina. Some reasons for muscle weakening are attributed to age, multiple births, hysterectomy, and obesity.
