What is cervicitis?

Cervicitis is swelling and inflammation of the opening to the uterus, which is called the cervix. It is most often caused by an infection. Symptoms include vaginal discharge, pain during sex, pelvic pain, or pain when urinating. It may get better on its own or treatment can be used for an infection.
