Cardiogenic shock

What is cardiogenic shock?

Cardiogenic shock results from a failure of the heart, specifically the ventricles, to pump blood effectively. This inadequate circulation of blood to the body in turn results in cell and organ death and may often be fatal. It is usually the result of heart damage such as a heart attack.
