What is bullous emphysema?

Bullous emphysema is the advanced type of pulmonary emphysema. It is a progressive disease of the lungs where there are large air spaces contained in sacs within the lung. Emphysema is included in a group of diseases called chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD.
