What is bulimia nervosa?

Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by recurrent binge eating, followed by compensatory behaviors. The most common form is self-induced vomiting, sometimes called purging; the use of laxatives, enemas, diuretics, and over exercising are also common.
