What is Andersen-Tawil syndrome?

Andersen-Tawil syndrome is a genetic disorder that causes periodic paralysis, changes in heart rhythm (arrhythmias) and other developmental abnormalities. It can cause physical abnormalities such as a small lower jaw, widely spaced eyes, dental problems and unusual curving of the fingers and toes.
