Homepage Overview
When you first hit the homepage, you are prompted to download a free prescription discount card. To clarify: downloading this card does not require any kind of signup, membership, payment, or login. There is no expiration date, no fees associated with it, and it can be used at any time to get deals on prescription medicine for you and your family.
There are three choices of how to download the card. Text, email, or print. All of them will get you the same deals, the only difference between them is the format in which you want to have the card. If it is easier to keep it on your phone, text it! Like having a physical copy? Print it out. Once you have the card, it's time to find out how much you can save.
Download the App
If you prefer a phone based experience, take advantage of the free to use Optum Perks app on both iOS and Android. Right underneath the options to download the prescription card is a text field where you can enter your phone number. This will send you a link to the app on your phone, which you can then use to find discounts on the prescription medicine you need.

Search For Medicine
At the bottom of the landing page, there is a button under "Want to learn more?" that says "Visit Optum Perks." Clicking on this link will take you immediately to a page where you can search by specific drugs or conditions! If you are on a prescription drug, you can type in either the generic or brand name here. Clicking on that drug will take you to a different page with more information. You can then filter by manufacturer, form, dosage, or quantity! Curious what the difference is between 20 and 40 mg tablets? Set your dosage and see the prices.
At the bottom of each drug's page there is information about the medication, cost, coupons, how insurance comes into play, and more! Optum provides detailed breakdowns on generic vs. brand names, what to ask about the medicine if you have questions, and resources from the FDA should you need additional follow up.
Compare Prices
Once you have the prescription medicine you need, you can search by zip code to find the best deals in your area. A list of options will be generated, with the distances from the zip code you set, filtered by price. Over 64,000 pharmacies accept Optum Perks discount card! CVS, Costco, Rite Aid, Walmart, Walgreens - you can use this at all of them. Each medication page shows how much you can save, often up to 80%.
