Our members have been asking us for years for a place to discuss chronic pain on PatientsLikeMe. We heard you.
The new Chronic Pain forum is here, and it's a place for members with any health condition(s) to connect on the topic of pain – from your treatment experiences to day-to-day living with recurring or long-lasting pain.
Here's a little background about why we've created this new forum:

- Pain is common among patients, and it's one of the “core symptoms” that PatientsLikeMe asks members about.
- In looking at how pain affects members of the PatientsLikeMe community, more than half of all patients who've reported the severity of their pain have rated it as “moderate or severe” (learn more about members' experiences with pain here).
- In the U.S., an estimated 25.3 million adults (11.2 percent) experience chronic pain, according to a 2015 National Institutes of Health report (which defines chronic pain as “pain every day for the preceding 3 months”).
