What is retinopathy of prematurity?
Retinopathy of prematurity is a condition in which there is abnormal development of the blood vessels in the eye. Since the vessels are fragile, they can leak and cause bleeding in the eye. Additionally, scar tissue may pull the vessels away from the retina and lead to vision loss.
