What is Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome?
Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome is a neurological condition affecting the face and tongue area causing swelling and paralysis of the face and lips (usually the upper lip), and deep folds and ridges in the tongue. These characteristic eventually become permanent. The cause of this syndrome is unknown.
