What is amniotic band syndrome?
Amniotic band syndrome occurs when strands of the amniotic sac randomly wrap around a limb, digit, or other parts of the fetus and cause constriction. The constriction can be so tight that it affects blood flow to the area and can affect the development of the fetus.
