Orthostatic intolerance

What is orthostatic intolerance?

Orthostatic intolerance (OI) is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system occurring when an individual stands up. Orthostatic intolerance occurs because standing upright requires rapid and effective circulatory and neurologic compensations to maintain blood pressure and consciousness.
